The 13 days trip Marrakech, Great South and desert of Morocco is a complete tour to discover the atlas area and sahara desert visiting Taroudant, the small city of the walls and the village of Tafraout famous for its painted rocks, slippers emblematic symbol of traditional Moroccan culture. Then through the desert and dunes of Chegaga arriving at Zagora capital of the Touaregs, then through the tracks of the Dakar we will reach the dunes of Ouzina and the highest dunes of Morocco Erg Chebbi in Merzouga passing through Berber villages and the nomadic lands, sacred oasis in the desert of Mhamid, then return to Marrakech by the route of a thousand kasbahs
Day 1. Marrakech.
Reception at Menara Marrakech airport and transfer to the hotel, depending on the arrival time of your flight to make a first contact with Jamae el Fenna square and the surroundings. Bed and breakfast at the hotel.
Day 2.- Marrakech – Tizi N'Test – Taroudant.
In the morning we will leave Marrakech, through the Tahnaout valley in the middle of the Atlas Mountains, visiting the mosque of Tinmal was built in 1156 by the al Mohades, where Iben Tumert installed in 512/1121 to build the nucleus of the Almohad movement. The mosque was declared a World Heritage Site in 1995. Then we will cross the high Atlas Mountains by the pass of Tizi-n-Test 2093m altitude, the valleys, the Kasbahs, the oueds before reaching Taroudant. We will visit the Berber souks of the city. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 3.- Taroudant – Ait Baha Valley – Tafraoute.
In the morning we will see the village of Taroudante, the atmosphere in the souk then departure to Ait Baha village located in the Anti-Atlas Mountains in the middle of the mountains. “Arganes” A valley of palm trees, we cross the mountains of the Anti Atlas the mountainous landscape, with small stone villages, we pass by the Kasbah of Tizourgane or Tissergane and then to Tafraout, a small charming town where we worked the leather, specialty of working the slippers, emblematic symbol of the traditional Moroccan culture.

Day 4.- Tafraout – Anti Atlas – Ait Mansour – Daddy – Tisint.
After having visited the painted rocks with their numerous and surprising views and crossed the valley and the gorges of Ait Mansour beautiful landscapes with the palm grove is an impressive geological ensemble, then through several Berber villages and different valleys we will arrive at the Bedouin village of Tata where we will take a break then in the afternoon arrive at the village of Tisint which is in an Oasis with small waterfalls where we spend the night in a camp in Oasis. Dinner and overnight in haima.
Day 5.- Tata – Foum Zguid – Chegaga Dunes.
This stage is the most beautiful and wild: we will cross the Bedouin village of Tissint, then we will cross a desert plateau, we will pass by the dry lake Iriki where the Draa valley dies with an altitude of 457 m in the middle of the desert to reach the dunes of Erg Chegaga, a sea of dunes where we will spend the night in a haima nomadic tents at the foot of the dunes. Dinner and overnight in Haima in the middle of the desert.
Day 6.- Chegaga Dunes – Zagora – Sahara Desert – Tafraout.
After breakfast, we continue along the tracks of the Dakar, passing by the sacred oasis, then towards Tamegrout small village of green desert pottery topped with a small village surrounded by earth-toned clay gardens. It is also, and above all, the headquarters of one of the most prestigious Zaouia North Africa. Its madrassa (Islamic school), has a rich library unique in Morocco, we will pass through Zagora the capital of the Tuaregs then we will go along the track that crossed the port of Tizi N Tfilalet, we will cross the desert of the hamada that borders the Algerian border, we will pass by Rally Paris Dakar tracks, we will see Berber villages lost in the middle of the desert, In the afternoon we arrive in Tafraoute, a Berber village in the middle of the desert. Day 7.- Tafraout – Ouzina – Oasis Jdaid.
We will continue on the track passing through the ksours in the desert and crossing the dry oueds, the sacred oases, the desert plateaus, etc. Different expedition. We will finally arrive at the foot of the dunes of L'Erg Ouzina, have lunch at noon in a hostel winged by the dunes, then continue along the Dakar tracks to reach the Jdaid Oasis, where we will spend the night in a hotel in the middle of the desert. Overnight in a hotel in the middle of the desert with tranquility. Dinner and overnight in a family kasbah.
Day 8: Merzouga – Dunes and desert Erg Chebbi.
After breakfast on the Dakar track, always crossing several villages and nomadic lands, we will stop in the village of Khamlia, a village of blacks with Malian origin, the mines of Mifiss, the desert plateaus, the Berber nomads. In the afternoon we will go on camels, a one-hour tour, head towards the dunes to watch the sunset and sleep in a desert camp. Overnight and dinner in Haima Nomadic Tents.
Day 9: Merzouga – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley.
This early day we will see the sunrise, and we return with the camels to the hotel and shower, we leave for Rissani, the first imperial city of Morocco, then we pass through Erfoud village where the whole subject related to fossils is located, we will pass by the palm grove of Tafilalet, we visit the Todra gorges, ending our tour in the Dades Valley. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 10.- Dades – Boutagrar – Skoura – Ouarzazate.
In the morning visit the Dades Gorges then we go out on tracks to the village of Boutagrar to see the nomads who live in the caves middle of the mountain, then we continue through the valley of roses and the palm grove of Skoura with its Kasbahs in the middle of the palm grove, visit the Kasbah of Amridil. In the afternoon we will arrive in Ouarzazate, the city of cinema or Hollywood of Africa, where we will spend the night in a riad in the middle of the palm grove. Dinner and overnight in riad.
Day 11.- Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech.
First thing in the morning we visit the Kasbah Taourirt in Ouarzazate, then we will go to see the village that is a world heritage site Ksar Ait Ben Haddou fortified village, then we will go through the Ounila valley passing through several Berber villages and kasbahs, we visit the Kasbah Telouet, then crossing the high Atlas Mountains by the pass of Tizi-n-Tichka 2260m, We will arrive in Marrakech in the afternoon.
Dinner and overnight in hotel.
Day 12.- Marrakech guided tour.
After breakfast, guided tour of Marrakech the pearl of southern Morocco. Discover the Bahia Palace was built at the end of the nineteenth century, with the intention of being the largest palace of all time, then visit the Saadian Tombs of the sixteenth century in the barium of the Kasbah of Marrakech, possibility to see the ben Youssef madrasa we will continue with the visit to the magnificent Koutoubia or Koutoubia Mosque founded in the twelfth century, It is one of the attractions of the center of Marrakech and is the highest mosque in Marrakech with a height of 69m and a building for the worship of the Islamic religion.
