FEZ (FES) :

Classified as "Universal Cultural Heritage" by UNESCO. It is the first of the Imperial Cities, as it dates back to the eighth century. It is also the first city of Muslim worship in Morocco and has one of the oldest universities in the world, prior to the Sorbonne in Paris. It was built on a hilly terrain, which makes its view from the outskirts have a certain similarity to that of Rome. Fes, in fact, is made up of two cities: Fes el Bali (the old one) founded in the eighth century by Moulay Idriss and Fes el Jedida (the new one), founded in the thirteenth century by the Marinids.

EXCURSIONES
– SIDI H'RAZEM (15km)
Thermal baths already mentioned by León El Africano, in the sixteenth century, and whose waters rich in magnesium flow at 35º. The old Sidi Harazem is closed, but you can see the marabout of Sidi Harazem surrounded by a charming garden. In the new one you can catch water or swim in one of its three pools. Towards the end of April, a very important Moussem (religious festival similar to a pilgrimage) takes place.
-SEFROU (33km)
A small white town at the foot of the Middle Atlas, in its surroundings are the waterfalls of the Oued Agaï and the gargants of Sebou (Cherry Festival in June, Moussem in August).
-IMOUZZER AL KANDAR (38km)
Charming Berber village at 1345 m altitude. Souk on Mondays. Berber honey festival. Breathtaking views from the Jebel Abad at 1,768m.
– São Paulo (63km)
It looks like a small Swiss town with its manicured gardens and pristine streets. Starting point for the Michliffen massif circuit (where the ski resort of the same name is located), and also for the circuit of the lakes.
-MEKNES (65km)
Another imperial city and in its area the sanctuary of Moulay Idriss and the Roman city Volubilis.
– AZROU (80km)
The most beautiful cedar forest (120,000 ha) in Morocco.
– CUP (120km)
The first Almohad capital, its walls, the Mosque of the Andalusians, the Great Mosque and the old house of Bou Hamara stand out. It is an important pole of attraction for caving (the Friouato abyss).
