Marrakech It is located in the center of the country, at the foot of the Atlas, which makes it the main tourist point of the country. It has the largest traditional market in the country, and one of the busiest squares in Africa, Djemaa el Fna. Like other Moroccan imperial cities, it is divided into two parts: the center with the great Medina and the new city. The most famous place in Marrakech is Jama el Fna Square, located very close to the famous Koutubia Mosque, within the ancient city. The whole city revolves around it, and thousands of people gather every day. Among other places of interest we can highlight the Koutoubia Mosque, built in 1157, is one of the largest mosques in Islam; or the El-Badi Palace, built in 1603 by Ahmed el Mansour, the most illustrious of the Saadian sovereigns. In its time this palace was one of the largest and most luxurious in all of Africa.
Fez This imperial city, founded in the seventh century by Moulay Idriss, is a jewel of the Hispano-Moorish civilization and is considered the cultural, artistic and religious center of the country. The city is divided into three zones: Fez el badi, the old one, which houses mosques, madrassas and old palaces; Fez el Jedid, the new one, with the Royal Palace and the audio quarter (mellah) and the New Town, where the French settled during the “protectorado”. Its Medina is one of the largest medieval sites that exist today and its streets form an authentic labyrinth, full of merchants and artisans. Walking through it is like taking a step back in time and you will be assaulted by noises, colors and smells of a crowd that fills everything.
Casablanca It is the economic capital and largest city of the country. It is located 80 kilometers south of the capital, on the coast of the Atlantic Ocean. It is a rather bustling city, but without a doubt, the most modern city in the country, which has numerous places of interest. Among those that stand out the famous Hassan II Mosque, the second largest in the world, after Mecca, with a minaret 210 meters high (currently the highest in the world); the old Medina, surrounded by walls built in the eighteenth century, with lively alleys and stalls, where you can find a variety of items; or Mohamed V Square, surrounded by beautiful buildings that form a large architectural ensemble.
Rabat It is the capital of the country, located on the Atlantic coast. Despite being the capital, Rabat is a quiet city, with a special charm. It is the perfect city to walk and rest. Highlights the Great Mosque or the Andalusian Garden, where it is located in the Museum of the Oudayas, which offers several typical objects of the Moroccan aborigines, such as Berber jewelry, ceramic objects or spectacular carpets.
Meknes (Meknes) It is located in the north of the country, in the middle of a green valley, at the foot of the Middle Atlas Mountains. It is one of the most important imperial cities in the country, declared by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site thanks to its wonderful urban center, typical of a capital of the Maghreb of the seventeenth century. Its souks are some of the most picturesque in the country, where the most everyday objects can become exceptional. Among its places of interest we can highlight the Medersa Khiber, the highest point of the city, with a beautiful minaret with colorful mosaics; the Mausoleum of Mulay Ismail, with one of the mosques that non-Muslims can access; or the Bab Mansour Gate, built in 1732, and currently considered one of the most majestic works and the largest gate in Morocco and all of North Africa.
Playas de Marruecos
Essaouira It is a beautiful port city, located on the western Atlantic coast. It is one of the most pleasant cities on the Moroccan coast. It is known as the capital of the wind, and has over time earned the nickname of “La Perla del Atlántico”. You can find several places of interest, highlighting its Medina or ancient city, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2001; the Sqala, an important fortification built in the fifteenth century; or the Ben Youssef Mosque, of Almoravid origin, which was rebuilt in the sixteenth century.
Tanger is a city at the western end of the Rif in northern Morocco in the Tangier-Tetouan region. populated by more than 700,000 inhabitants, it is the 5th city of the kingdom, and its main focus of entry to Europe. The 14 km of the Strait of Gibraltar separates the two continents that Hercules had separated according to mythology. Tangier is the second industrial center of Morocco after Casablanca. The sectors are diversified and include textile, chemical, mechanical, metallurgical and naval industries. The city has four industrial parks, two of which have the status of free zone. If you arrive by boat to Tangier it is easy to walk to the medina area through the port door or continue along the wide promenade towards the tourist area and the beaches; if you arrive by car, the best area to park is the large souk from where you can access both the medina and the new area, or in the promenade area.
Agadir In the foothills of the Atlas, with a beautiful bay of calm waters is the most international beach in Morocco, enjoying an exceptional climate all year round. Among its most important places of interest we can highlight the Kasbah, which offers wonderful views of the entire city; the Medina Coco Polizzi, recently rebuilt with a medieval atmosphere; or its port, full of activity at any time of the day.
El Gran Sur
Ouarzazate También conocida como “La Puerta del desierto”, is located in the vicinity of the Atlas Mountains and the Draa River Valley. Among its tourist attractions is the Kasbah of Benhaddou, declared "Cultural Heritage of Humanity", is located near the river. This city is closely related to cinema. One of the most important film studios in the world, atlas studios, are located there. In Ouarzazate several famous films were shot such as Asterix and Cleopatra, or Lawrence of Arabia…
Rissani it is attractive both for its surroundings and for its history and has several monuments of interest. It is considered the heiress of the mythical Sijilmassa, former capital of the Tafilalet that came to have more than 100,000 inhabitants. Of this splendid city have only reached our days some vestiges near the oued Ziz. Rissani is first and foremost a holy city, legend has it that in the thirteenth century, there was a tremendous drought that devastated the Tafilalet and that the local chiefs asked a descendant of Muhammad, Hassan el Alaoui, to come from Arabia to see if his beneficial influence attracted rain, and so it was. In this way the predecessor of Mulay el Rachid was installed in the Tafilalet that would give rise in direct line to the reigning dynasty in Morocco.
Tinghir Important city nestled between the Tafilalet and the Draa. It is built on terraces, crowned by an ancient kasbah of glaoui and surrounded by a hill in an important oasis of Todgha in which in addition to a leafy and extensive palm grove, there are abundant olive trees, orange trees and other fruit trees. Its privileged location, its beauty and its excellent hotel equipment make it an important point of reference in travel in the region. To the north, towards Er Rachidia, is the exit for the Todgha Gorge.
Desierto Merzouga It is a town located in the Tafilalet valley, at the foot of the highest Saharan dunes in Morocco, Erg Chebbi, and next to a small palm grove. Until recently it was a small town mostly populated only by nomads. But over time it has become a more tourist center, in which there is no shortage of accommodation and a wide variety of services.
